Abstract

The success or failure of any organization depends on its employees and how well they’re motivated towards their work. Motivation plays a fundamental role in enhancing employee productivity and performance. Employee motivation is directly linked to employee commitment, productivity and business profits. An organization should know about their employees and their corporate needs. Every employee has his/her own motivational factors that motivate them to perform their work effectively and efficiently. This study focused on the Impact of the Modern Work Environment on the Performance of Employees in the Public Sector: Case Study of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security in Lusaka Town. A simple random sample procedure was used to choose the One Hundred and Ninety (190) respondents for the study, of who Ninety-five (95) were to be senior staff and another Ninety-five (95) junior employees. This study used a descriptive research design as well as the use of a structured interviewing guide to acquire data.
The study’s findings showed if the workplace environment had an effect on employees. The study was anticipated to show if employees' performance would increase if management resolves the issues discovered throughout the investigation.
