Abstract
In the realm of education, assessment, and evaluation serve as fundamental pillars for gauging student learning and progress. However, their significance transcends mere academic measurement, extending into the realm of social improvement, equity, and fairness within educational systems. This review delves into strategies aimed at fostering equity and fairness in assessment and evaluation practices, thereby enhancing social improvement in education. Firstly, the review explores the concept of equity in assessment, emphasizing the importance of providing all students, regardless of background or circumstance, with equal opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. This involves employing diverse assessment methods that accommodate various learning styles and cultural backgrounds, thus mitigating biases and fostering inclusivity.
