The Impact of Successful and Failed Oversight Functions on Corruption Prevention within the Ministry of Social Affairs
Abstract
This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of the success and failure of the supervisory function—both individually and collectively—on corruption prevention within the Ministry of Social Affairs. The study employs a quantitative survey method with a correlational approach, utilizing Simple Random Sampling. The sample consists of 55 respondents. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that: a) the hypothesis test regarding the success of the supervisory function shows a strong and significant influence on corruption prevention within the Ministry of Social Affairs; this is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.728 and a calculated t-value of 7.741 (exceeding the t-table value of 2.000). The coefficient of determination is r² = 0.531 (53.1%), indicating that 53.1% of corruption prevention is determined by the success of the supervisory function, while the remaining 46.9% is determined by other factors. b) The hypothesis test regarding the failure of the supervisory function shows a strong and significant influence on corruption prevention within the Ministry of Social Affairs; this is evidenced by a correlation coefficient of 0.678 and a calculated t-value of 6.723 (exceeding the t-table value of 2.000). The coefficient of determination is r² = 0.460, indicating that 46.0% of corruption prevention is determined by the failure of the supervisory function, while the remaining 54.0% is determined by other factors. c) The hypothesis test regarding the multiple correlation of the success and failure of the supervisory function—acting jointly—on corruption prevention within the Ministry of Social Affairs revealed a strong and significant influence; the correlation coefficient was 0.760, with a calculated F-value of 35.607 exceeding the F-table value of 3.17. Meanwhile, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.578, indicating that 57.8% of corruption prevention is jointly determined by the success and failure of the supervisory function, while the remaining 42.2% is determined by other factors.
